REFERRAL POLICY

My Approach to Ensuring the Best Therapeutic Fit

As a therapist, my primary goal is to provide a space where clients feel completely safe, understood, and supported. Therapy works best when there is full trust and neutrality between the client and therapist. Because of this, I carefully consider any prior connections I may have with potential clients or their family before beginning therapy.

In a close-knit community like ours, it’s not uncommon for me to have social or professional connections with individuals who reach out for services. If I have a prior relationship with you or a close family member—whether through shared friendships, community involvement, or past interactions—I may recommend referring you to another therapist. This is not because I don’t want to work with you, but because I want to ensure that you or your loved one has the best therapeutic experience possible.

Additionally, if I am already working with someone close to you—such as a family member, close friend, classmate, or colleague—I may also determine that a referral is the best course of action. Therapy is most effective when clients feel they have a space that is fully their own, free from concerns about overlapping relationships. In these cases, I will gladly help connect you with a trusted colleague who can provide the highest level of care.

These decisions are always made with your best interests in mind, and I appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, I’m happy to discuss further.
